Cmd, Ctrl or Shift + Click to add or remove an image from a selection

In the film strip I usually have the option to add or remove an image from a selection. Let’s say I press A to select all, but then I realize one of the shots has motion blur and I’d like to remove that from the selection.

Depending on the software I use for photo or video editing, I can use cmd+click or any of the other mentioned to remove that from the selection.
